"Dropped the turkey" is a shorthand way of referring to a person who has not aged successfully. Retirement community phones light up the day after Thanksgiving with calls from grown children visiting from out of town who are surprised to find a parent in a state of decline. Perhaps the house isn’t being maintained, medication isn’t being taken, or the parent literally dropped the Thanksgiving turkey. The "Drop the Turkey" blog is intended to start conversations that promote successful aging.
